
Get Involved by Volunteering on a Viewpoint Committee
Volunteers are very important at Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, which is largely a volunteer-based, non-profit organization. Executive Director Roberta McClellan helps manage this effort with various committee chairs who assist with vetting and placing volunteers. Volunteers are the heart of Viewpoint. It is Viewpoint’s goal is to make volunteering fun, rewarding, and a great way to meet other people who share an interest in photography. Viewpoint has current ongoing needs in the following areas:
Gallery Docents
Docents serve an extremely important role – they are our visitor’s first impression of Viewpoint. Additional docents are needed. Temporary gallery hours are currently Wed-Sat noon to 5 p.m.

Member Receptions
This committee is responsible for hosting monthly Friday evening member receptions. New committee members are needed to handle refreshments and other hosting duties. (Currently on hold)

Exhibit Installation
These volunteers are responsible for taking down and hanging all Main and Step Up Gallery exhibits. You must interview for this position, and it requires training.

Membership
The Membership Committee manages all the membership information in Viewpoint’s database and sends out membership renewal notices.

Curatorial
The committee is looking for volunteers to assist in curating, scheduling, and managing gallery exhibits. You must interview for this position. Previous experience is helpful.

Workshops
The Workshop Committee is responsible for scheduling Viewpoint workshops, researching instructors and content, adding workshop information to the website, and processing registrations.

This committee is responsible for planning and scheduling student print critiques and lectures and for developing and maintaining the Viewpoint on Campus program.
