1st Wednesday Print Night 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
First Wednesday Print Night is Viewpoint’s monthly gathering of photographers interested in showing, looking at, and talking about prints in a casual, friendly environment. Attendees don’t need to bring prints to take part; participants can bring one print or several (maximum is 7), in color or black and white, digital or darkroom, finished or in progress.
The order of showing will be determined with a sign-in list and limited to 12 people. Please call the gallery at (916) 441-2341 between 4 and 5 p.m. or arrive early to have your name placed on the list.
3rd Wednesday Portfolio Print Night 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
This night is for members who want to share a body of work, an ongoing project (finished or in progress), or are just looking for ideas to put together groups of images. This is like a peer review support group of photographers. Again, you don’t have to bring prints to share to participate. There will be fewer people presenting their work (limit of 8), with more time for feedback (10-15 minutes each). We will conclude by 9:00 pm.
Slides are also welcome, but if you want to show slides or digital images and need a projector, please email or call the gallery at (916) 441-2341 between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. that evening.
Non-members who wish to see what Print Night is like are welcome to join us one time as a non-member. If there is time, they may put their work out after all the members have taken their turn. Their second visit to Print Night must be as a member of Viewpoint.
The Viewpoint Student Program was created to provide students with an educational resource that gives them valuable industry information, feedback, and support in a semi-professional environment. Viewpoint is offering a program to help high school and college students grow and build their art, meet other students in their chosen field of study who share their interests, and join a thriving organization dedicated to the photographic arts.
