Annual Juried Student Show: Catching the Moment

Zebb_Baseball

Street Photography can include urban, suburban, and rural environments. What is it that causes you to stop and look again? Is it lighting or action on the street? Does it include people, animals, buildings, and signs? What do you want the viewer to understand about why you were inspired to make this photograph?

Forty-seven of the 81 students who submitted photographs were accepted by our Juror, David Kalb.  The high school students are from Nevada Union (Grass Valley), Ronald McNair (Lodi), and Twelve Bridges (Lincoln). Three Los Rios Community College District campuses in Sacramento: American River, Cosumnes River, and Sacramento City, Sierra College (Rocklin), and Solano Community College (Fairfield). Students also attend California State University, Sacramento, and the University of the Pacific (Stockton).  For the first time, we had submissions from out-of-state students: Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland, OH; University of Colorado, Denver; University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and Ringling College of Art and Design, Sarasota, FL.

Three students will receive prizes of $200, $150, and $100, and 4 students received Honorable Mentions.
