David L. Robertson: Beauty Among the Buses

From 2012 through 2015, David made several trips to Coach Maintenance in Williams, California.  The yard was filled with old buses and trucks in various stages of decay.  What attracted him was the levels of rust, the shapes, and the variety of colors.  This exhibition contains twenty-five of the more than 1400 photographs captured during those trips.  Many of the photographs border on abstraction, some are close-ups yet still identifiable, and others capture the entire vehicle.  At the heart of all of the images are color, texture, and design.  There is beauty all around us, even in buses that have outlived their useful lives.  David’s intent in this exhibition is to showcase that beauty.
