It’s Not Your Parent’s HDR!  Taking advantage of new HDR technology in Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw

HDR Class

The future of digital photography is here now! Check out this new workshop to help prepare you for the future of digital photography and learn how to use this technology to make all your images, HDR and SDR look their best.

Have you ever wondered why images look better on your smart phone then they do on your computer? It’s not entirely the processing that your phones do, it is the display. All modern smart phones can display 10-12 stops of dynamic range, while the average computer monitor can only display 8 stops. But that is all changing with new display technology, High Dynamic Range displays. These new monitors can display between 12-14 stops of dynamic range.

The “new” HDR is a combination of hardware (HDR capable monitors), and software that is capable of sharing HDR processed images. These displays give you a dynamic range of 12-14 stops, greatly improving the look of your images.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • The difference between the “old” HDR and the “new” HDR
  • What is needed for the “new” HDR
  • How to process for HDR in Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom
  • How to output HDR images for both HDR displays and SDR displays using WebSharpPro plug in
  • How to process HDR images for print

For an example of the difference please check out these two posts on Lewis Kemper’s Instagram page:
