Chinatown Street Photography and Brunch with David Wong
Join David Wong for a day of photography in San Francisco’s Chinatown. David will take a small group (maximum 10) through the alleys, sites, and shops of Chinatown, where he spent much of his younger years. The workshop will start with a Dim Sum brunch at one of the best Dim Sum restaurants in Chinatown. David grew up eating out with gourmet Chinese meals and will guide everyone through classic Dim Sum delicacies. The group will meet first at Lai Hong Lounge on Powell Street at 10 am for a Dim Sum brunch. The brunch will cost an additional $25-$30 per person, including tips.
After brunch, the group will walk throughout Chinatown, visiting Grant Avenue and alleys, photograph historic sites and architecture from the early 1900’s, stroll through colorful produce stores and fish markets, and visit the fascinating cable car museum. David will talk about the history of Chinatown and the Chinese who arrived there in large numbers starting in the 1800s, which included his great-grandfather.
We will share the full schedule and a map to the meeting place with workshop attendees once they enroll.
